SCENT OF A MEMORY: A QUIET PAUSE WITH MAISON MARGIELA FRAGRANCES
I’ve admired Maison Margiela since I was a teenager — not just for the clothes, but for the quiet power of its world: conceptual, elusive, and deeply personal. There’s always been something about the brand that felt like a whisper rather than a shout, and maybe that’s what makes it stay with me.
When I lived in Florence a long time ago and studied fashion, Lazy Sunday Morning was the fragrance I used most often. Life was very fast-paced back then — full of deadlines and projects, but this fragrance felt like a gentle pause. A clean cocoon of white musk and fresh laundry, warm skin, and early light. It created space for silence, even if only for a moment.
They say that smell is the closest sense to memory, and it's true. One spritz and I'm back in my old apartment on Via Palestro, wrapped in fresh white sheets, watching the morning light filter through the linen curtains. Some scents don't just smell good — they hold the old versions of yourself you didn't know you'd left behind.
